What to expect?

At your first appointment a full medical history will be taken and a discussion around your healthcare concerns and needs. It may be important for your to be examined including a pelvic and or speculum examination. This will occur with a female nurse present, please Dr Baxter know if you’ve any concerns or previous poor experiences which may impact this. Dr Baxter is a trauma aware practitioner and will seek to provide you control and understanding during all steps of any examination undertaken.

Depending upon the nature of your referral Dr Baxter may contact you to complete further tests or questionnaires prior to your appointment.

Do I need to have private health insurance?

No. Whilst patients with private health insurance can be seen public patients who require admission for surgery will be referred to the public waitlist at their local hospital.

If I need surgery, where will it be performed?

Dr Baxter currently operates out of Peel Health Campus and Armadale Hospital.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please bring any relevant pathology tests of imaging results to your first appointment along with a list of any medications you may be taking. Dr Baxter would also encourage you to bring any questions you have with you to your appointment.
